Structural parameter study of dual transducers-type ultrasonic levitation-based transportation system

Abstract Having a continuous mode of transportation, in the manufacturing and pharmaceutical industries, is desirable this facilitated by usage dual transducer-type ultrasonic levitation-based transportation systems. It well known that structural electrical parameters determine what can be transported continuously, but relationships between these important are still not clear. In study, vibrating plate length phase shift two transducers were investigated as both key for system, affect standing wave ratios (SWRs), acoustic radiation forces, consequently way system operates. Through numerical analysis experimental verification, it seen when sum or difference spatial (determined length) equal to 180° × (1 + 2 n ) (where an integer), except 180°· m also integer) SWRs approaches unity, all implying traveling waves (TWs) dominantly excited on plate. As consequence, TW-induced force, which greatly exceeds wave-induced causes particle being moved sound field. This paper only clarifies requirements generating provides valuable information practical design such system.
